So when people say, \u2018Oh, you know, does he remember who you are?\u2019 Well, he does because he doesn\u2019t have Alzheimer\u2019s; he has FTD,\u201d Emma clarified.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that\u2019s a very common misconception that, when you think of dementia, we think of memory loss,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Emma, 47, then declared that her husband knows who people are, including <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/article\/bruce-willis-kids\/\">his five daughters<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Emma said the variant of FTD that Bruce has \u201caffects language\u201d but not memory. <span class=\"credit\">YouTube\/The Bossticks<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>\u201cAnd I think that\u2019s a very common misconception that when you think of dementia, we think of memory loss,\u201d she said. <span class=\"credit\">YouTube\/The Bossticks<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s different [from] Alzheimer\u2019s,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd Alzheimer\u2019s is the most common form of dementia, but FTD is the most common form of dementia for people under the age of 60.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In March 2022, the Willis family announced that the \u201cFifth Element\u201d star would be stepping away from acting after he was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2022\/03\/30\/bruce-willis-diagnosed-with-aphasia-stepping-away-from-acting\/\">diagnosed with aphasia<\/a>.
