{"id":5940,"date":"2026-06-18T00:02:05","date_gmt":"2026-06-18T00:02:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/collin-gosselin-shades-mom-kate-after-announcing-upcoming-memoir\/"},"modified":"2026-06-18T00:02:05","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T00:02:05","slug":"collin-gosselin-shades-mom-kate-after-announcing-upcoming-memoir","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/collin-gosselin-shades-mom-kate-after-announcing-upcoming-memoir\/","title":{"rendered":"Collin Gosselin shades mom Kate after announcing upcoming memoir"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/wp-content%2Fuploads%2Fsites%2F3%2F2026%2F06%2F131345190.jpg?quality%3D90%26strip%3Dall\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Hours after teasing the upcoming <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/06\/17\/parents\/collin-gosselin-vows-to-expose-dark-childhood-with-jon-kate-in-bombshell-memoir-reveal\/\">release of his bombshell memoir<\/a> in which he plans to expose alleged wrongdoing in his famous family, Collin Gosselin took to social media to shade his mom, Kate Gosselin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t plan this at all, but coincidentally on the day of the official announcement of my book, it is Colleen\u2019s birthday,\u201d Collin wrote alongside a snapshot with Colleen Conrad \u2014 whom his father, Jon Gosselin, <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/08\/13\/jon-gosselin-colleen-conrad-and-i-broke-up-before-cancer-battle\/\">dated from 2014 to 2021<\/a> before <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/11\/23\/celebrity-news\/jon-gosselin-marries-stephanie-lebo-with-two-of-his-children-in-attendance\/\">tying the knot with Stephanie Lebo<\/a> in November. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe is the strongest woman I know, who stepped in at the toughest part of my life and CHOSE to be a mother to me,\u201d Collin, 22, gushed in the caption. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHappy birthday to my wonderful, hardworking, passionate, and I could go on\u2026 to my real mom \u2764\ufe0f I love you so much.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>In the comments thread, the former reality TV star wrote, \u201cThe love you feel for a mom you were given is incredible. But the love you feel for a mom that CHOSE you is something so powerful. I love you!\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The post comes hours after the \u201cJon &amp; Kate Plus 8\u201d alum teased the release of his memoir, \u201cIn the Shadow of Eight,\u201d due to hit shelves in October.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not a story for entertainment, it is a story to instill responsibility in everyone to advocate and speak up against abuse, injustice, and the exploitation of children,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DZsjb2UxcwB\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">captioned a montage<\/a> of photos from his childhood.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI not only poured my heart into this book for my younger self, but for ALL who have faced unfair and outright heinous acts as children. I am your voice. I stand with you. CG\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The book\u2019s publisher released a synopsis on Wednesday, promising that the memoir will share the \u201cnever-before-told story of how [Collin] escaped and found his way back from the dark.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>The post comes hours after Collin revealed the upcoming release of his bombshell memoir about his family (as seen above). <span class=\"credit\">Grand Central Publishing<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>He has repeatedly accused his mother, Kate (seen above in a social media post), of alleged abuse.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The publisher also described the book as a \u201creckoning with the dark side of fame: the systems, the entourage, and the institutions that allowed one boy to be erased.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The book\u2019s cover features a throwback image of Kate holding her hand over Collin\u2019s mouth. <\/p>\n<p>Kate and ex-husband Jon, 49, also share 22-year-old <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/article\/jon-and-kate-gosselin-eight-kids\/\">sextuplets<\/a>\u00a0Aaden, Joel, Alexis, Hannah and Leah,  and twins Cara and Madelyn, 25. <\/p>\n<p>The famous family rose to fame on the TLC reality show, which morphed into \u201cKate Plus 8\u201d following the former couple\u2019s divorce in 2009. <\/p>\n<p>Jon was ultimately\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2018\/11\/07\/jon-gosselin-wants-full-custody-of-14-year-old-son-collin\/\">granted sole custody of Collin<\/a>, while Hannah eventually moved in with them, as well.<\/p>\n<p>Over the years, Collin has\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2024\/09\/10\/parents\/kate-gosselins-son-collin-claims-she-locked-him-in-basement\/\">slammed Kate<\/a>\u00a0with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/11\/26\/parents\/collin-gosselin-recalls-more-scarring-details-from-mom-kates-alleged-abuse-after-dad-jon-remarries\/\">allegations of \u201cchild abuse and child exploitation\u201d<\/a> \u2014 including allegedly being\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2024\/09\/10\/parents\/kate-gosselins-son-collin-claims-she-locked-him-in-basement\/\">zip-tied and locked in a basement<\/a>\u00a0before\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2023\/07\/19\/collin-gosselin-kate-institutionalized-me-because-i-outed-abuse\/\">being institutionalized<\/a> in 2016 \u2014 with Kate consistently denying the claims and defending her decision to place him into a behavioral health facility. <\/p>\n<p>Madelyn\u00a0publicly backed up her mother, <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2023\/07\/20\/mady-gosselin-accuses-collin-of-physical-violence-hate-speech\/\">accusing Collin of \u201cphysical violence,\u201d <\/a>which Jon and Collin have denied. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>The family rose to fame on \u201cJon &amp; Kate Plus 8\u201d. They\u2019re seen above in a social media upload. <span class=\"credit\">jongosselin1\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In an August 2025 social media post, Collin <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/08\/09\/celebrity-news\/kate-and-jon-gosselins-son-collin-pens-message-to-estranged-siblings\/\">seemingly accused his mother <\/a>of being instrumental in his estrangement from many of his siblings, with Kate cryptically <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/08\/14\/parents\/kate-gosselin-seemingly-denies-she-caused-kids-estrangement\/\">responding to the drama<\/a> in a social media comment, \u201che knows why\u2026\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Kate previously denied an affair with Neild in 2009, telling People at the time of the media coverage, \u201cThey\u2019re going to keep going, and they\u2019ll make up stuff to connect the dots.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Collin and Jon swiftly took to social media to <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/09\/24\/celebrity-news\/jon-collin-gosselin-slam-kates-romance-with-ex-bodyguard\/\">blast Kate following the revelation<\/a>. \u201cEveryone says my dad and I are hung up on my mom.
