I immediately lost, and we woke up with all the gusto in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Robby Hoffman revealed on Trixie Mattel\u2019s podcast that she stormed out of the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys after losing to \u201cHacks\u201d co-star Julianne Nicholson. <span class=\"credit\">YouTube\/Trixie &amp; Katya<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Hoffman (seen above on the podcast) admitted she was \u201cbeyond surprised\u201d to lose Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series to Nicholson. <span class=\"credit\">YouTube\/Trixie &amp; Katya<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Hoffman, who played Randi in the <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/28\/entertainment\/how-jean-smarts-hacks-season-5-series-finale-ended\/\">HBO Max series<\/a>, was up for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series, but lost to Nicholson, 54, for her performance as Mary \u201cDance Mom\u201d Alice.<\/p>\n<p>The comedian said she assumed she\u2019d win the Emmy, despite being up against \u201cinsane\u201d talent like Olivia Colman and Zo\u00eb Kravitz.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_12-0\">\u201cWe\u2019re beyond surprised to lose,\u201d Hoffman admitted. \u201cI walk in, I\u2019m already like, \u2018Where am I going to put the Emmy?\u2019 We lose immediately, my sister goes, \u2018We don\u2019t need this s\u2013t,\u2019 and pushes me out. She grabs me by the arm. \u2018We\u2019re leaving this s\u2013t.&#8217;\u201d <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Hoffman (pictured above on \u201cHacks\u201d with Meg Stalter and Paul W. Downs) recalled that her sister grabbed her by the arm and rushed her out of the room after she lost. <span class=\"credit\">HBO<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Hoffman (seen above in the HBO Max series) said she had to go back in the room to present an award later in the ceremony.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Hoffman said when she ended up backstage, Mattel, 36, comforted her and let her \u201cstew\u201d about the outcome.<\/p>\n<p>Despite her disappointment, Hoffman recognized that Nicholson was \u201cbeyond\u201d deserving of getting the Emmy for her \u201camazing\u201d performance.<\/p>\n<p>While Hoffman initially fled the ceremony, she said she had to go back in the room because of a contractual obligation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had to present cinematography. I said, \u2018Nah, I don\u2019t want to do that anymore.\u2019 They said, \u2018No, it\u2019s part of the program!&#8217;\u201d she explained. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was like, well, my circumstances changed. My circumstances have changed! I\u2019m not in the mood, and they want me to read whatever\u2019s on this teleprompter. I go, one thing I know, I\u2019m not saying whatever the f\u2013k they have me saying.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Nicholson (seen above in the show) beat Hoffman for the Emmy for her performance as Mary \u201cDance Mom\u201d Alice. <span class=\"credit\">HBO Max<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Hoffman said Nicholson (pictured above) was \u201cbeyond\u201d deserving of getting the Emmy. <span class=\"credit\">HBO Max<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>However, Hoffman calmed down after she enjoyed champagne and took the stage to present the award for Outstanding Cinematography for a Series (Half-Hour) to <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/06\/22\/entertainment\/the-studio-shot-a-season-2-episode-in-nyc-where-they-reference-catherine-oharas-death\/\">\u201cThe Studio.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mattel, for her part, commended Hoffman for her \u201crefreshing\u201d behavior at the Emmys.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou entered the room like your whole family was murdered,\u201d the reality star stated. \u201cYou sat on the couch, and it felt like you were in shock that you were actually upset about not winning.
