$800,000 working for the New York Times before she <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/04\/14\/entertainment\/nfl-reporter-dianna-russini-resigns-from-the-athletic-after-photos-with-mike-vrabel\/\">lost her job over the Mike Vrabel scandal<\/a>, a former manager who had knowledge of Russini\u2019s income <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2026\/06\/24\/nyregion\/dianna-russini-mike-vrabel-athletic-new-york-times.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told the newspaper<\/a> in a new report.<\/p>\n<p>Russini was one of the highest-paid journalists at the Athletic, which was <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/01\/06\/new-york-times-to-buy-sports-website-the-athletic-for-550-million-report\/\">purchased by the Times in 2022 for $550 million<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure story broke, The Athletic was in discussions with Ms. Russini about renewing her contract, which was set to expire at the end of June,\u201d according to the outlet.<\/p>\n<p>The New England Patriots head coach and the sportscaster \u2014 who are both married to other people \u2014 denied anything romantic was going on between them and insisted they were joined by other friends at the resort, by the New York Times<\/a>\u00a0and later\u00a0<a
