Alpert, who did not elaborate further on the baby\u2019s condition, did note that the specialist said it came with \u201chigh risks\u201d and \u201chighly recommend[ed she] terminate this pregnancy and \u2026 do it quickly if so.\u201d<\/p>\n
The \u201cHow I Met Your Mother\u201d alum remembered, \u201cMy husband and I tried so hard to savor Christmas Eve, and Christmas with our baby boy, fighting through the grief each day. \u2026 Mason and I desperately prayed for either a miracle or a miscarriage. Never had that on my bingo card. \u201cWe didn\u2019t want to have to make this decision,\u201d her caption continued. \u201cNo mom or dad should ever have to be put in this place. The shame and guilt is unfair. Having to do this is something that is rarely spoken of and seems to not have the same kind of empathy as other situations. She said the heartbreaking experience made her fall \u201cmore in love\u201d with her husband as he supported her \u201cfor better or for worse [and] in sickness and in health.\u201d<\/p>\n\u201cStill feels unreal,\u201d she penned. \u201cWe didn\u2019t want to have to make this decision.
