The acquisition does not, however, involve every Swift track associated with Wolf Cousins.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cIt could have approval rights or meaningful leverage that\u00a0affect\u00a0how Swift can use those recordings in certain contexts,\u201d Biggers said of the impact on Swift (above).  <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Martin (above) and Shellback founded Wolf Cousins, a songwriting collective, in the 2010s.  <span class=\"credit\">Frazer Harrison<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI would not call HarbourView a partner of the Swift camp,\u201d Biggers explained. \u201cBut by acquiring interests in songs\u00a0that are\u00a0closely tied to Swift\u2019s catalog and cultural legacy, HarbourView is now economically connected to an important part of her ecosystem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, the value of the Swift songs in HarbourView\u2019s portfolio could rise as the pop star\u2019s cultural influence and legacy continue to expand.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs Swift continues to grow her brand and reinforce her place as a legendary pop artist, HarbourView stands to benefit from the enduring value of those songs and Swift\u2019s evolution from a generational star into a lasting figure in the pop-music canon,\u201d Biggers said.<\/p>\n<p>Sources told Variety on Wednesday that the acquisition price was in the low nine figures \u2014 though HarbourView did not confirm and would not disclose the terms of the deal. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt HarbourView, we invest in culturally relevant intellectual property and the visionary creators behind it,\u201d HarbourView\u2019s CEO Sherrese Clarke told the outlet in a statement. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cMax Martin and Shellback continue to hold their place as hitmakers in contemporary music, and through Wolf Cousins they have built an extraordinary creative ecosystem spanning generations and genres.
