it has been rebuilding trust across the board.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>While the insider admitted she had not heard anything about Markle\u2019s plans to join her husband during his meeting with the King, she noted that her relationship with the reigning monarch \u201chas always been somewhat distinct from Harry\u2019s.\u201d <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cIf Meghan accompanies Harry to the UK or to a meeting with his family, it would signal to the\u00a0public that any effort at rebuilding relationships extends to the Sussex family as a whole,\u201d Matta said of the Sussexes\u2019 upcoming meet-up with Charles (seen together in 2017).  <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Harry \u201cdesperately\u201d wants their kids to see Charles (above), according to an insider.  <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cHistorically, there have been indications that Charles made efforts to welcome her into the family, but she has taken a step back in recent years,\u201d Matta said. \u201cI see that as an acknowledgment that the Sussexes\u2019 ongoing tensions with the royals actually stem from Harry and his own family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She continued, \u201cThe issues he has raised, of press intrusion and an emotionally stifling palace environment, existed and were eating away at Harry before he even met Meghan.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Matta believes that the \u201cfrenzy\u201d over Markle and Harry\u2019s relationship with the royal family, and Britain in general, has \u201cconsiderably\u201d died down since they last appeared alongside Prince William and Kate Middleton in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe public generally understands that this relationship is incredibly complicated, but they also know more than ever about the way the monarchy operates,\u201d Matta said. \u201cThe greatest risk, in my opinion, comes from how the palace manages this \u2018return.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cI see that as an acknowledgment that the Sussexes\u2019 ongoing tensions with the royals actually stem from Harry and his own family,\u201d Matta said of Harry and Markle (seen above in 2022).  <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet (seen with their parents above), were last in the UK in 2022. <span class=\"credit\">meghan\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cIf the public sees mixed signals, like suggestions of reconciliation alongside reports of ongoing or renewed tension, it would reinforce the impression that the royal family is still navigating unresolved issues behind the scenes \u2014 that they can\u2019t get their act together, in other words,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n<p>Our source also shared that Harry \u201cdesperately wants\u201d\u00a0his kids to reunite with their grandfather.<\/p>\n<p>Charles allegedly <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/06\/19\/royal-family\/king-charles-offers-prince-harry-and-meghan-markle-an-olive-branch-ahead-of-uk-visit-report\/\">extended an olive branch<\/a> by inviting the Sussexes to stay at a royal residence while they\u2019re in town, the US Sun reported.
