[It\u2019s the] level of understanding and just being there for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for why the Hulu personality chose to come out when she did, Taylor explained, \u201cIt\u2019s just something that I honestly didn\u2019t really know how to formally address for a long period of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 25-year-old said she previously \u201cunderplay[ed]\u201d her sexuality \u201cfor a long period\u201d but was \u201cfinally in the era\u201d of wanting to \u201cshow every part of Layla to the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>While the reality star said during Monday\u2019s episode that she is \u201ctalking to\u201d a woman currently, she did not name the individual. <span class=\"credit\">Jay Shetty Podcast<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Before the conversation, Taylor (pictured above in October 2025) \u201cdidn\u2019t really know how to formally address\u201d her sexuality. <span class=\"credit\">laylaleannetaylor\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Taylor gushed, \u201cI\u2019m very proud now to be out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The reality star clarified that she has \u201calways had these thoughts\u201d \u2014 but \u201calready stood out so much to\u201d her peers as \u201cbeing a little Black girl \u2026 in a very predominantly white area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She recalled, \u201cI kind of laugh about it now because I would be watching shows like \u2018Pretty Little Liars\u2019 and I would watch, like, Shay Mitchell kissing a girl.
