The newcomer, played by Wicked star Casey Al-Shaqsy, turned up on the <a target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/itv\" rel=\"follow\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">ITV<\/a> soap as the long-lost cousin of Jack Sugden, and spurred Woolpack landlady Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) on into telling her partner Mack about <a target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/emmerdale\" rel=\"follow\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">the abuse she had faced at the hands of Dr Caitlin Todd.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Last year, <a target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/tv\/tv-news\/emmerdale-spoilers-what-happens-charity-37327948\" rel=\"follow\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">Charity tried become a surrogate for her granddaughter Sarah<\/a> only to find out that she was naturally pregnant by Ross Barton. Still, she kept this all a secret and Sarah believed that all had gone to plan with the surrogacy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Unfortunately, Dr Caitlin <a target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/tv\/tv-news\/emmerdale-airs-disturbing-sexual-assault-37260956\" rel=\"follow\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">Todd, who had relentlessly bullied Sarah&#8217;s partner Jacob<\/a> when she was in charge of him at the hospital, found out the truth and used it to blackmail Charity into handing over money. This all culminated in harrowing scenes where she sexually assaulted a drunken Charity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">In the latest episode of the Yorkshire-based serial, Charity went back to the police, having already come clean to her partner, to tell them everything but was warned that it was all a case of proving anything now.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">At the same time, Serena had managed to make sure she would be sticking around in the village after Sarah offered her a place to stay during baby Leyla&#8217;s christening. What did I do?&#8221; She simply said: &#8220;You were born,&#8221; as she ran off crying into the back.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">At this point, Serena followed her to ask if she was okay but Charity dismissed her. Whilst all this was going on, Mack had headed back to the hospital to confront Dr Todd.
