In the comments thread, a follower referencing Collin\u2019s ongoing accusations wrote that her \u201cheart is with\u201d the reality TV star, as she empathizes with being \u201cconstantly disparaged and lied about\u201d by an \u201cadult child with a skewed version of their childhood.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThank you! YOU understand,\u201d Kate, 51, replied in the thread. \u201cSadly, only parents who have a mentally ill child understand!\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Kate went on, writing that it\u2019s \u201cso tough\u201d and saying she\u2019s \u201clearning that [people] have NO ability to understand unless they\u2019ve been through it themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A day prior, another follower <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@kate.gosselin\/video\/7656816880237301023?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote that the comments \u201chave to be filtered,\u201d<\/a> to which Kate wrote, \u201cYep! No hate or ridiculous accusations! In another TikTok comment, Kate said she wouldn\u2019t be taking one.  <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/@collingosselin1<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In another social media comment on Monday, Kate <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/06\/30\/parents\/kate-gosselin-hits-back-at-son-collins-public-plea-for-lie-detector-test-ahead-of-memoir\/\">told a follower she wouldn\u2019t be taking Collin up on<\/a> his October 2025 challenge to take a lie detector test \u2014 over his allegations she kept him\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2024\/09\/10\/parents\/kate-gosselins-son-collin-claims-she-locked-him-in-basement\/\">locked in the basement<\/a> with zip-tied wrists and ankles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you are 100% certain that the accusations against you are lies, my suggestion would be to take him to court and sue him for defamation!\u201d\u00a0one person wrote, to which Kate responded, \u201cI can\u2019t bc I\u2019m a public figure. Rules are different unfortunately.
