told People<\/a> in an interview published Wednesday.<\/p>\nHowever, the 50-year-old began noticing in 2022 that \u201cpieces of the story [were] missing\u201d when the actor shared stories \u201cabout his parents\u201d she\u2019d heard \u201cover and over\u201d growing up.<\/p>\nDanny Glover\u2019s daughter, Mandisa, divulged the first sign of her dad\u2019s Alzheimer\u2019s disease in a Wednesday interview. instagram\/iandeyerule<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nThe 50-year-old told People she noticed pieces of his legendary stories \u201cmissing.\u201d instagram\/iandeyerule<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<\/aside>\n\u201cI said, \u2018I wonder what\u2019s going on,’\u201d Mandisa, who said her father is now \u201caware sometimes and then sometimes not,\u201d recalled.<\/p>\n
She went on to brand Glover\u2019s dementia battle \u201cdepressing,\u201d saying, \u201cIt\u2019s a change in the core of who you think you are or don\u2019t think you are.\u201d<\/p>\n
The experience has been \u201cvery hard\u201d for Mandisa, who tries to \u201cjust \u2026 live the day for what it is.\u201d<\/p>\nIn 2022, Mandisa started to wonder what was \u201cgoing on\u201d with the actor. instagram\/iandeyerule<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nGlover (pictured above in March 2022) was diagnosed in 2023. The Grammy nominee added, \u201cI\u2019m still not accepting in my mind all parts of it. There are the moments that you keep remembering that validate the fact that you can remember stuff. And there are moments I\u2019ll never forget.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t feel like it\u2019s the end of my life,\u201d he continued, declaring he has \u201cwork to do.\u201d<\/p>\nMandisa called the health battle \u201cvery hard\u201d and \u201cdepressing.\u201d instagram\/iandeyerule<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nShe said her father is \u201caware sometimes and then sometimes not.\u201d instagram\/iandeyerule<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nAs for the message Glover wants to share with the public, he said, \u201cI still have my daughter, I have friends. I want to just say, your life continues.\u201d<\/p>\n
Glover announced his diagnosis, which he received in 2023, during a \u201cToday\u201d show segment with Lester Holt on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n
While he can \u201clive with it in a sense,\u201d the \u201cLethal Weapon\u201d star noted, \u201cI\u2019m sure as it advances, things are going to be different and changing.\u201d<\/p>\nGlover revealed his diagnosis on the \u201cToday\u201d show Wednesday morning. Mandisa took part in that sitdown as well, highlighting how \u201cvery important\u201d it is for her dad to take \u201ccontrol of his own narrative, of his own life story.\u201d<\/p>\n
She gushed, \u201cThat\u2019s really important. And the time is now. What better time but now for him to speak for himself? It\u2019s important because people ask questions sometimes, and I don\u2019t want to be a dishonest person and say, \u2018Oh, yeah, everything is all right. It\u2019s all great.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
