He tied the knot with McPhee in 2017. <\/p>\n<p>In the most recent update, Ransone\u2019s widow shared a May Instagram post <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/08\/celebrity-news\/the-wire-actor-james-ransones-wife-gives-family-update-after-his-death\/\">celebrating Jack\u2019s 7th birthday<\/a> as she thanked her friends and followers for their support during the difficult time. <\/p>\n<p>She described Jack as \u201cthe most handsome, stubborn, funny, affectionate, strong boy,\u201d adding, \u201cWe wouldn\u2019t want it any other way. Love you to the moon and back!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McPhee continued, \u201cAnd to all of our friends and family \u2013 it takes a village indeed. We love everyone so much. Thank you for all your support, love, kindness, food, tears, and laughs these last 5 months.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Ransone (seen here at San Diego Comic-Con 2019) died by suicide in December 2025.
