The \u201cMaterial Girl\u201d songstress <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2010\/01\/09\/madonna-sean-laugh-it-up\/\">filed for divorce<\/a> from Penn for the first time in 1987.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/videos\/344085\/madonna-reveals-sex-obsession-marriage-regrets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">During an interview with E! News in 2022<\/a>, the hitmaker admitted \u201cgetting married\u201d wasn\u2019t the best idea. <\/p>\n<p>However, the exes have <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2010\/01\/09\/madonna-sean-laugh-it-up\/\">maintained an amicable relationship<\/a> throughout the years, with Madonna referring to the \u201cMystic River\u201d star as a\u00a0\u201ccaring, compassionate individual\u201d after being <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2015\/12\/17\/madonna-sean-penn-never-hit-me\/\">forced to deny allegations that he was abusive.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile we certainly had more than one heated argument .\u2009.\u2009.
