29-year-old Leon being in her famous mom\u2019s shadow.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know they tried to put us to the test \/ We\u2019re not the same, but I\u2019m treading on your footsteps \/ Sometimes I think you wish I\u2019d go away \/ But my shadow stays and it\u2019s okay to be yourself,\u201d they sing. <\/p>\n<p>But in the second verse, Leon expresses her love for Madonna.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA hand tenderly reaching to me \/ You are my reason to be \/ Or what I want, or look like \/ What I wear, all the clothes on my back,\u201d Leon sings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd what I attract \/ I trace the line album \u201cConfessions II\u201d released Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The first lyrics of the song, \u201cLittle Star,\u201d is also the title of Madonna\u2019s 1998 song from her seventh album, \u201cRay of Light,\u201d that she dedicated to <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/article\/meet-madonnas-6-children-everything-to-know-about-her-kids\/\">her eldest child.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Leon \u2014 whom Madonna <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2023\/06\/20\/madonnas-daughter-lourdes-leon-has-rare-outing-with-dad-carlos\/\">shares with ex Carlos Leon<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 teased the collaboration a few days ago on Instagram by<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DaLrj8OtEa2\/?igsh=cW00cjlid3RpOGp5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> posting a throwback photo <\/a>of the mother-daughter holding hands, alongside a collection of the heartfelt lyrics. <\/p>\n<p>In a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.interviewmagazine.com\/music\/madonna-confessions-on-a-dancefloor-nadia-lee-cohen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Interview Magazine story<\/a>, Madonna revealed Leon approached her about writing the song \u201cas a way to heal our relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a really important moment, and it solidified the idea that now is the time to make this record,\u201d the Grammy Award winner shared. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter
