She\u2019s known for starring in the A&amp;E reality series, which followed adults with Down syndrome overcoming obstacles and pursuing their personal and professional goals.<\/p>\n<p>Sanz\u2019s parents, Mariano and Beatriz, announced the heartbreaking news <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DahnLN-Dt1Z\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">on Instagram<\/a> Wednesday.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cBorn This Way\u201d star Cristina Sanz died Monday after suffering sudden cardiac arrest, her parents announced Wednesday. She\u2019s seen here in March 2023. <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/Cristina Sanz<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Sanz\u2019s parents, Mariano and Beatriz, said tin an Instagram post that they were by her side during her final moments. <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/Cristina Sanz<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cIt is with a heavy heart that we share the news that our daughter, Cristina, passed away Monday morning,\u201d a post on Sanz\u2019s Instagram account read. \u201cShe suffered a sudden cardiac arrest while at her Day Program and was rushed to the hospital.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Her parents shared that despite the doctors\u2019 best efforts to stabilize her heart, the reality star didn\u2019t survive. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are grateful that we were able to be by her side at the end,\u201d they wrote. \u201cHer death was a total shock and unexpected.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The reality star was 36 years old. The show chronicled Sanz\u2019s life with her then-husband, Angel. Their wedding was documented in a 2018 episode.<\/p>\n<p>But the two split split in 2021, sharing that the COVID-19 confinement put a strain on their marriage, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2026\/07\/08\/cristina-sanz-dead\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TMZ reported.<\/a><\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The A&amp;E series also showed her relationship with her then-husband, Angel.
