She was 75.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBonnie\u2019s family and team are heartbroken to announce that Bonnie unexpectedly passed away last night in hospital in Portugal as a result of the illness that she was being treated for,\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BonnieTylerOfficial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> a spokesperson said in a statement on Thursday.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will issue a further statement shortly but for now ask for privacy to deal with this tragedy.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cTotal Eclipse of the Heart\u201d singer Bonnie Tyler (pictured in 2023) has died. She was 75. <span class=\"credit\">Redferns<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Earlier this month, Page Six confirmed the musician (seen above in 2023) was put in a medically induced coma. <span class=\"credit\">Ken McKay\/ITV \/ Shutterstock<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cBonnie has been put into an induced coma by her Doctors to aid her recovery. We know that you all wish her well and ask for privacy at this difficult time please,\u201d her manager told us in a statement. \u201cWe will issue a further statement when we are able to.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The day prior, it was revealed that the three-time Grammy nominee had been <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/06\/celebrity-news\/total-eclipse-of-the-heart-singer-bonnie-tyler-rushed-to-hospital-for-emergency-surgery\/\">rushed to a hospital in Portugal<\/a> for the emergency procedure. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are very sorry to announce that Bonnie has been admitted to hospital in Faro, Portugal, where she has a home, for emergency intestinal surgery,\u201d a statement shared to her official statement and social media pages read. \u201cThe surgery went well, and she is now recuperating.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Prior to that, it was revealed Tyler (pictured performing in Berlin last year) had been  rushed to a hospital in Portugal for emergency intestinal surgery.  <span class=\"credit\">Redferns<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>In a statement from her official website and social media pages (seen above), it was said that the surgery \u201cwent well\u201d and that Tyler was \u201crecuperating.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">bonnie tyler\/ instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe know that all of her family, friends, and fans will be concerned about this news and will be wishing her well for a full and swift recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/07\/celebrity-news\/bonnie-tyler-74-reportedly-in-induced-coma-after-being-rushed-to-hospital\/#\"\/>Tyler was first rushed to the hospital on April 30,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/entertainment\/16328120\/bonnie-tyler-coma-hospital-portugal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according to the US Sun<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Her 2026 European tour was scheduled\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bonnietyler.com\/tour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">set to kick off in Malta<\/a>\u00a0on May 22.<\/p>\n<p>Back in March, the singer shared how she continues her love of performing, despite experiencing some health issues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m fit enough at the moment, touch wood, and I\u2019m really enjoying doing the shows,\u201d she told Hello!
