I left to go make the show I had been developing that our showrunner John Wells had encouraged me to kinda get in the driver\u2019s seat of my own career and make my own shows and make things.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Actress Emmy Rossum (seen here) addressed the \u201ccommon misconception\u201d about her exit from \u201cShameless\u201d during Tuesday\u2019s episode of \u201cCall Her Daddy.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">YouTube\/Call Her Daddy<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cI think a common misconception is I left to go have babies,\u201d the actress told host Alex Cooper. <span class=\"credit\">YouTube\/Call Her Daddy<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Rossum, 39, told host Alex Cooper that she had launched her own production company, Composition 8, in 2019 and had already started working on her <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2022\/05\/13\/emmy-rossums-angelyne-transformation-included-3-pound-boobs\/\">2022 one-season drama series, \u201cAngelyne,\u201d<\/a> when she was offered two more years on the Showtime comedy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wanted to stay in the job. I loved the job,\u201d she explained elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wasn\u2019t walking away from the job. I loved the job until it felt like there wasn\u2019t enough juice to squeeze out of the lemon,\u201d the \u201cPhantom of the Opera\u201d star continued, adding that she felt \u201cbeholden\u201d to move forward with her own show.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cThat could not be further from the truth,\u201d she added. I felt like I was launching and getting ready to start this new chapter,\u201d she pointed out.<\/p>\n<p>The Paul Abbott-created show, also starring Jeremy Allen White and William Macy, ended with 11 seasons in 2021.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cI wanted to stay in the job.
