Considering the Met Gala 2026 dress code was \u201cFashion Is Art\u201d<\/a> \u2014\u00a0a nod to the museum\u2019s new exhibition, \u201cCostume Art\u201d \u2014\u00a0it\u2019s no surprise Monday night\u2019s best red carpet looks<\/a> leaned sculptural, painterly and cinematic.<\/p>\n

Some of the celebrities in attendance drew inspiration from specific works across artistic mediums. Sabrina Carpenter\u2019s Dior dress paid homage to Audrey Hepburn\u2019s 1954 film\u00a0\u201cSabrina,\u201d<\/a> for instance, while Kendall Jenner\u2019s GapStudio gown was modeled after \u201cWinged Victory of Samothrace\u201d<\/a> and Gracie Abrams\u2019 Chanel look was like a Klimt painting come to life.<\/p>\n

Others used the exhibition\u2019s exploration of clothed and naked bodies as a jumping-off point \u2014\u00a0like Chase Infiniti, clad in trompe l\u2019oeil Thom Browne, and Hailey Bieber, whose Saint Laurent look included a sculpted breastplate crafted from 24-karat gold<\/a>. Co-chair Beyonc\u00e9, one of the final stars to walk the carpet, even arrived in an Olivier Rousteing creation<\/a> featuring a sparkling silver skeleton.<\/p>\n
