Though they weren\u2019t famous yet as the Spice Girls had yet to release their debut single, 1996\u2019s smash hit \u201cWannabe,\u201d they had an \u201camazing night\u201d drinking champagne and getting to sit at a table with Lenny Kravitz.<\/p>\n<p>But Sporty Spice said the night later took a turn for the worst.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Mel C recalled an argument with fellow Spice Girl Victoria Beckham that almost got her kicked out of the group during her recent appearance on \u201cThe Louis Theroux Podcast.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Louis Theroux\/YouTube<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The singer, aka Sporty Spice, said after the 1996 BRIT Awards, she told Beckham to \u201cf\u2014k off,\u201d though didn\u2019t elaborate what set the argument off. <span class=\"credit\">Louis Theroux\/YouTube<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe were just leaving, we were going to find our car, and whatever the situation was, I just turned around and go, \u2018Victoria, f\u2011\u2014k off,\u2019\u201d she recalled. \u201cI go home, go to bed, I wake up the next morning, and I was in a lot of trouble.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mel C said Mel B (Sporty Spice) and Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) told her they were \u201cdisgusted\u201d with her behavior and that the group\u2019s manager also came down hard on her.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_17-0\">\u201cI was told in no uncertain terms that if anything ever happened like that again, I would be gone,\u201d she said. \u201cThat completely freaked me out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She admitted she was terrified that she was going to \u201close everything\u201d over a \u201ctrivial\u201d incident.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Mel C said the next day both her bandmates Mel B and Geri Halliwell told her they were \u201cdisgusted\u201d with her. The group is pictured here in 1996. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_19-0\">\u201cThose dreams as a child, which now were a possibility, I might have f\u2014ked it all up,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Back in May, Mel C<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/28\/celebrity-news\/mel-c-reveals-which-spice-girl-was-most-boy-crazy\/\"> revealed who was the most \u201cboy crazy\u201d <\/a>of the members of the Spice Girls when they hit superstardom in the \u201990s, which she said was Mel B.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would say the best success rate\u2026\u201d she began in an episode of \u201cCosmopolitan\u2019s Blind Date,\u201d before commenting that Mel B  \u201cwas very popular.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The singer, seen here performing earlier this month, recalled being terrified that she was going to \u201close everything.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Redferns<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>She noted that the incident, in her mind, was \u201ctrivial.\u201d She\u2019s pictured here performing earlier this month. <span class=\"credit\">Ricky Swift \/ BACKGRID<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Earlier that month, she also<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/26\/celebrity-news\/spice-girls-singer-mel-c-responds-to-assumption-about-her-sexuality\/\"> addressed assumptions about her sexuality<\/a> while she was part of the iconic girl group.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019ve got all the different ones and the one who\u2019s in the active wear \u2026 it was assumed or suggested that I was gay,\u201d she\u00a0said during her appearance on \u201cThe Mitch Churi Chat Show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t personally have a problem with that,\u201d she continued. \u201cI mean, it\u2019s none of their friggin\u2019 business. But I just thought \u2026 to base it on somebody\u2019s look or the way that they dress, yeah, it was a bit s\u2014t of them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mel C has a daughter, Scarlett, 17, whom she shares with her ex-boyfriend Thomas Starr.
