took to Instagram<\/a> on Sunday to share what she called \u201cjust a little update\u201d with her followers.<\/p>\n\u201cI\u2019m doing really well. Let\u2019s get that out of the way. Currently cancer free. Hallelujah. \ud83d\ude4c \u201d she began. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m still in the reconstruction phase and will be for months. It\u2019s truly a journey,\u201d she continued. \u201cHealing has taken some time, but every week I\u2019ve felt a little more like me again.\u201d <\/p>\nNBC\u2019s Sara Gore shared some happy news after revealing a cancer diagnosis live on the air in April. Instagram\/sara_gore<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cCurrently cancer free. Hallelujah,\u201d Gore (pictured here interviewing Olympic figure skater Alysa Liu) wrote on Instagram. Instagram\/sara_gore<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<\/aside>\nGore went on to thank her followers for the many gifts they\u2019d sent in support of her healing, including books, flowers, food, puzzles, prayers, cards, texts, and calls. <\/p>\n
\u201cEvery thoughtful gesture that came my way. I felt EVERY bit of it,\u201d she noted. \u201cYou carried me through some really hard days, and I\u2019ll never forget your kindness.\u201d <\/p>\n
Gore wrote that she\u2019ll be \u201cback on\u201d her shows soon, and added that she \u201chonestly can\u2019t wait.\u201d<\/p>\nThe \u201cOpen House\u201d and \u201cNew York Live\u201d host thanked her followers for their texts, calls, cards and gifts. Instagram\/sara_gore<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cYou carried me through some really hard days, and I\u2019ll never forget your kindness,\u201d she wrote. Instagram\/sara_gore<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cUntil then, I\u2019m soaking up these last few slow mornings appreciating all the moments that usually move by too fast to notice,\u201d she wrote before signing off, \u201cit\u2019s good to be here. I love you all. \ud83e\udd0d\u201d<\/p>\n
Gore shared in April, on the air, that she\u2019d been diagnosed with breast cancer and would be taking a leave of absence from her hosting duties at \u201cOpen House\u201d and \u201cNew York Live\u201d as she sought treatment.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt just felt right to tell you myself, I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and I\u2019m going to be stepping away for treatment and surgery,\u201d Gore, 49, said during\u00a0an episode of \u201cNew York Live.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n\u201cIf I didn\u2019t say that I was a little bit scared, I\u2019d be lying,\u201d she confessed, at the time. <\/p>\n
\u201cI always knew I was high-risk. I always assumed this day would come. But let me tell you, you are never ready,\u201d she explained, adding that she felt \u201ccaught off guard\u201d by the news even though her mother and sister had also been diagnosed with the disease. <\/p>\nGore (seen above with an unidentified woman) told viewers live on \u201cNew York Live\u201d she had the disease. \u201cIt just felt right to tell you myself,\u201d she said. Instagram\/sara_gore<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cI always knew I was high-risk,\u201d Gore (posing with actor Tom Ellis) said. Her mother and sister both were also diagnosed with the disease. Instagram\/sara_gore<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cYou\u2019re just never ready for some reason because, even when you catch it early because you\u2019re doing everything right, it is an emotional blow.\u201d<\/p>\n
Gore went on to tell her audience that her work \u201cfamily\u201d was helping her to feel \u201cloved\u201d and \u201cvery supported\u201d through the diagnosis. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m going to come back better than ever, and I\u2019m going to see you on the other side of this,\u201d Gore noted. \u201cThank you for all you\u2019ve done.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
