The incident took place as Clayton strangled the woman on February 17, before calling 999 to report himself to the police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Officers arrived on scene at 12.48pm alongside the London Ambulance Service. The victim was found in her bedroom and was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Clayton was taken to custody and either answered no comment or remained silent and pretended to be asleep during interviews. He was charged with murder the following day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Appearing at the Old Bailey in central London today, Clayton admitted the murder.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke, from Scotland Yard, said: &#8220;Our thoughts are with Angela\u2019s family and friends, who have lost a much-loved mother, grandmother and friend.
