he\u2019d be \u201cannoyed\u201d if he died three years before his<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/07\/13\/entertainment\/sam-neill-jurassic-park-star-was-beaming-in-last-public-appearances-before-his-death-at-78\/\"> tragic passing at age 78.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d be annoyed because there are things I still want to do,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/shorts\/QyjNZgAlBFY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">explained on ABC\u2019s\u00a0\u201cAustralian Story\u201d<\/a>\u00a0in October 2023.<\/p>\n<p>But Neill \u2014 who was battling cancer at the time \u2014 noted he wasn\u2019t \u201cin any way frightened of dying,\u201d and that death has \u201cnever worried me from the beginning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not afraid of it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<figure href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/film\/2023\/mar\/17\/sam-neill-cancer-memoir-interview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">March 2023 interview with The Guardian.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not afraid to die,\u201d but it would annoy me,\u201d he shared. \u201cBecause I\u2019d really like another decade or two, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cPeaky Blinders\u201d star said he wanted to live long to enjoy his farm home in New Zealand\u2019s Central Otago and to watch his \u201clovely little grandchildren\u201d grow up.<\/p>\n<p>However, Neill reiterated he \u201ccouldn\u2019t care href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/04\/28\/celebrity-news\/jurassic-park-star-sam-neill-reveals-hes-now-cancer-free\/\">announced he was cancer free<\/a> following a battle with the rare blood cancer angioimmunoblastic\u00a0T-cell lymphoma.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSam was surrounded by family and passed with the dignity that has characterised his whole life,\u201d his loved ones<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DauK0SrT6uJ\/?igsh=MTRvanI5MmJ5a2l5NQ%3D%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> said on Instagram.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe loss was sudden and unexpected but blessed by the fact that Sam remained cancer free,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>The actor (seen above Ever Tell You This?.\u201d In his book, he revealed that he first noticed swollen glands\u00a0while doing press for\u00a0\u201cJurassic World Dominion\u201d\u00a0in March 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The actor underwent chemotherapy, but after that stopped working, he participated in a clinical trial for a type of CAR-T therapy that destroyed his cancer cells. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve just had a scan just now and there is no cancer in my body, that\u2019s an extraordinary thing,\u201d Neill shared in an interview with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/7news.com.au\/news\/sam-neill-reveals-cancer-battle-and-fight-for-life-saving-treatment-access-c-22195450\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Australian network 7News<\/a> in April.<\/p>\n<p>Neill also said that he wanted to get back to work, noting with a smile, \u201cIt\u2019s time I did another movie.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image
