At various points, Campbell and Tommy struck deals and even saved each other\u2019s lives, but they also tried to kill each other.<\/p>\n<p>To add fuel to the fire of their complicated relationship, Tommy\u2019s first love, Grace (Annabelle Wallis) was a spy for Campbell.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Tommy and Campbell (pictured with Annabelle Wallis\u2019 Grace in \u201cPeaky Blinders\u201d) were also enemies because Grace was a spy for Campbell.  <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9Netflix\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Murphy (pictured in \u201cPeaky Blinders\u201d) had heartfelt words about Neill, after the actor\u2019s sudden death on Monday.  <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9Netflix\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In the Season 2 finale, Neill\u2019s character was fatally shot. <\/p>\n<p>In an interview <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/mediacentre\/mediapacks\/peakyblinders\/sam-neill\/\">with the BBC<\/a> in 2013, Neill described Campbell as, \u201cprobably fairly psychotic but he\u2019s a righteous man, an upright man.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The New Zealand actor, who amassed over 150 acting credits in his five-decade long career, added that he was attracted to the role because, \u201cwho you\u2019re gonna be working with\u2026is very important to me in terms of other actors.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Neill (pictured with Paul Anderson in \u201cPeaky Blinders\u201d) had over 150 acting credits during his decades-long career.  <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9Netflix\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Neill (pictured in 2019 at \u201cThe Legitimate Peaky Blinders Festival\u201d) said it was important to work with good actors.  <span class=\"credit\">Redferns<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>He noted, \u201cIt makes the day considerably more enjoyable when you\u2019re working with people you think are good and it makes your job easier too.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Neill\u2019s family announced his death on Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is with immense sadness that the wh\u0101nau [family] of Sam Neill share the news of his passing on Monday 13th July, in Sydney Australia,\u201d they <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DauK0SrT6uJ\/?igsh=MTRvanI5MmJ5a2l5NQ%3D%3D\">wrote via Instagram.<\/a><\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Murphy (pictured with Sam Neill posing with Murphy\u2019s Oscar) in 2024 said that everyone who worked with Neill admired him.  <span class=\"credit\">samneilltheprop\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Neil was part of the \u201cPeaky Blinders\u201d (pictured with Murphy) phenomenon.  <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9Netflix\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A cause of death was not announced.
