Hanrahan, who had an Irish traveller background, was from Essex and had been working on Barr&#8217;s home when he was shot dead.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Officers said Hanrahan managed to escape the home after <a target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/gun-crime\" rel=\"follow\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">he was shot in the chest<\/a> but collapsed on the pavement. He died of his injuries not long afterward.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Hanrahan was believed to be working in the US illegally and was said to be a member of a group described as &#8220;The Traveling Conman Fraud Group&#8221;. Barr&#8217;s neighbour Erin Kelly told NBC Philadelphia: &#8220;He&#8217;s always friendly. Every time I&#8217;ve encountered him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;It&#8217;s just crazy that it happened here. An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">A spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security told MailOnline: &#8220;Salis Hanrahan was an illegal alien from the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;He entered the country illegally on an unknown date and location and was denied Electronic System for Travel Authorization as he was determined to have affiliation with \u201cThe Traveling Conman Fraud Group,\u201d a transnational criminal organization.
