star Alison Arngrim exposes crew&#8217;s on-set behavior"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/wp-content%2Fuploads%2Fsites%2F3%2F2026%2F07%2Flittle-house-on-the-priairie-set.jpg?quality%3D90%26strip%3Dall\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The \u201cLittle House on the Prairie\u201d set was filled with drinking, smoking and \u201cinsane\u201d parties, according to former star Alison Arngrim.<\/p>\n<p>Arngrim, who played child bully Nellie Oleson in the iconic TV series, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=sjz9zn9MaoQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said on the \u201cHere\u2019s What Happened\u201d podcast<\/a> last week the show\u2019s \u201colder\u201d crew members acted like the characters from \u201cMad Men.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey came from an era where everybody smoked and everybody drank, like all the time,\u201d the actress explained. \u201cThere was no health food and no vegetarian options and gluten-free muffins.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>\u201cLittle House on the Prairie\u201d star Alison Arngrim exposed the crew\u2019s on-set behavior on the \u201cHere\u2019s What Happened\u201d podcast (as seen above). <span class=\"credit\">YouTube\/Here&#8217;s What Happened Podcast<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Arngrim (seen here on the podcast) claimed the crew drank alcohol, smoked cigarettes and had \u201cinsane\u201d parties on the set. <span class=\"credit\">YouTube\/Here&#8217;s What Happened Podcast<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>She added, \u201cThe prop men were in charge of the booze and the cigarettes, as well as the candy, so everyone was hanging out at their truck.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Arngrim, now 64, clarified that none of the child actors were smoking on the set.<\/p>\n<p>But some of her adult co-stars, including <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/12\/05\/entertainment\/little-house-on-the-prairie-stars-remember-michael-landon-as-laugh-riot-despite-being-haunted-by-miserable-childhood\/\">Michael Landon<\/a>, \u201cwere puffing\u00a0Marlboros all over the place\u201d with the crew, who she said \u201cwent through a couple cases\u201d of beer every day.<\/p>\n<p>Arngrim also claimed Landon, who played the show\u2019s patriarch, Charles Ingalls, \u201coften would have a shot of whatever he was drinking that day\u201d \u2014 usually whiskey.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Arngrim (seen above in \u201cLittle House on the Prairie\u201d) compared the crew to characters in \u201cMad Men.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Courtesy Everett Collection<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>\u201cThey came from an era where everybody smoked and everybody drank, like all the time,\u201d Arngrim (pictured above in the show) said. <span class=\"credit\">Courtesy Everett Collection<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Despite that, Arngrim insisted \u201cno one was drunk on the set.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey were burning it off or something, because these guys were going on ladders and hanging lights and I\u2019m going, \u2018I know they\u2019re living on beer,&#8217;\u201d she shared. <\/p>\n<p>Arngrim also said when the crew was \u201crunning low\u201d on beer, they\u2019d send somebody out to restock.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe prop truck had a whole bar and at the end of each day when they were done they\u2019d put up like a bar with a board on a couple of saw horses and then start really drinking,\u201d she recalled.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Arngrim (seen above with Allison Balson in \u201cLittle House on the Prairie\u201d) said the crew \u201cwent through a couple cases\u201d of beer every day. <span class=\"credit\">Courtesy Everett Collection<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>She also claimed co-star Michael Landon (seen above with the rest of the cast) frequently took shots of whiskey.  <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The crew, according to Arngrim, also had \u201cinsane\u201d Christmas and wrap parties that involved everyone having a designated driver.<\/p>\n<p>Arngrim said she couldn\u2019t believe the crew members were \u201cstill awake\u201d to party after such heavy drinking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheir tolerance was God knows what,\u201d she shared. \u201cBecause they were out of the \u201950s where you drank and you smoked.
