He\u2019s requesting temporary sole custody of his eldest daughter, Olivia, 15. He and his ex-wife, Elena Samodanova, also share daughter Zlata, 8.<\/p>\n<p>Savchenko also claims his ex also took their daughters to Moscow and Vietnam without his permission.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Gleb Savchenko has accused his ex-wife, Elena Samodanova, of abducting their two daughters \u2014 Olivia and Zlata \u2014 and moving them to Hong Kong. She is afraid to do so.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Savchenko claims Olivia is scared of \u201cher mother\u2019s temper and anger issues.\u201d He also claims his eldest daughter told him about her alleged attempts to distance him from their children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no doubt in our minds that if Olivia were to return to her mother\u2019s care, she would be prevented from talking to or seeing me again and so would Zlata,\u201d he states. \u201cI am very concerned about Olivia\u2019s current mental health following years of her mother\u2019s maltreatment of her.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Olivia has been in California with her dad (pictured above in his Instagram post on July 1). She also accused him of keeping Olivia in California with him when she was supposed to return to Hong Kong on June 5.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a wrongful international retention,\u201d she alleged. \u201cHis emergency filing is a rushed attempt to bypass proper laws.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, Savchenko posted pics of him and Olivia together <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DaQm_m6mnYn\/?hl=en&amp;img_index=8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">on Instagram.<\/a><\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Savchenko claims Samodanova (pictured here with Olivia and Zlata in January 2024) has moved their daughters to Hong Kong where they\u2019ve been living for two years, despite them having a written agreement that she was supposed to return them to the US after a year. <span class=\"credit\">elenasamodanova\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Savchenko also claims his ex-wife has attempted to distance their kids from him. Grocery runs. Cooking from scratch. Training together. Long conversations. A few moments to slow down and actually be present.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cLife has a funny way of reminding you that the simplest days often become the most memorable ones.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Savchenko, 42, and Samodanova, 43, got married in July 2006. She <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2020\/12\/23\/elena-samodanova-files-for-divorce-from-gleb-savchenko\/\">filed for divorce<\/a> in December 2020 and accused him of infidelity, which he vehemently denied.<\/p>\n<p>Their split has been contentious.
