(Seen here: Yarmosky at his exhibit in January 2026.) <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images for Jason Bard Yarmosky<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Yarmosky\u2019s biggest muses have been his grandparents, who have allowed him to \u201cexplore the complex aspects of growing older, including vulnerability, care, wisdom, and humor,\u201d per his website.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DW9gWAfCey3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">During an interview with Num\u00e9ro New York in April 2026<\/a>, he explained that a few of his hyper-realistic paintings have been of his grandma Elaine as a bunny and grandpa Leonard as a cowboy.<\/p>\n<p>Yarmosky used several of his grandparent-inspired paintings that explore aging \u2014 physically and psychologically \u2014 in his Guild Hall exhibition, \u201cTime Has Many Faces,\u201d which was on view in the East Hamptons from January 2026 to April 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Yarmosky\u2019s grandpa died in April 2020, and his grandma in 2018\u00a0from Alzheimer\u2019s disease.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Yarmosky (seen here in 2022) lives in Long Island. <span class=\"credit\">Patrick McMullan via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>He moved into a family home after his grandparents died. (Seen here: Yarmosky.) <span class=\"credit\">Patrick McMullan via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>After his grandparents passed away, Yarmosky moved from Brooklyn, New York, to his cousin\u2019s beach cottage in Long Island.<\/p>\n<p>Overwhelmed with grief, he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/02\/18\/t-magazine\/double-diamond-house-design.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told T Magazine, a New York Times publication,<\/a> in 2021, that the home \u201cbecome [his] journal.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll my notes and ideas, whether they are paintings or writings, I put them up everywhere on the walls, and then I take them down and put other ones up.
