Palmeiras’ latest academy jewel Erick Bele is firmly in the sights of Liverpool according to reports in Brazil, with the Reds among several European giants circling the 19-year-old ahead of the summer window.

ESPN Brasil report that Liverpool, PSG and Parma have all “targeted” Bele and signalled a willingness to bid around 20 million euros for him.

Palmeiras, however, have set a far higher bar, indicating they want close to 40 million euros (around £34–35m) and are ready to offer more first‑team minutes to convince him to stay longer in Sao Paulo. Bele is under contract until 2028, which gives Palmeiras a strong negotiating position and means any deal would likely have to be on their terms rather than the buying club’s.

Bee is a left-footed attacking midfielder/forward starring for Palmeiras’ U20s and Brazil’s U20 national team, where he has built a reputation as one of the standout talents of his age group.

At 6ft, he couples a strong frame with sharp technique, long‑range shooting and the ability to finish clinically off either foot. He has already begun to taste senior football, making appearances in Palmeiras’ Campeonato Paulista title run and impressing in the Copa Libertadores U20, where Palmeiras finished third.

From a Liverpool perspective, Bele ticks a lot of the usual boxes: young, versatile across the attacking midfield and wide roles, technically gifted and already producing in a highly competitive Brazilian environment.

The question, as ever, is price; 40 million euros for a largely untested senior player is a serious punt, especially for a club that does not have too much experience in the South American market.

That said, if Liverpool believe he can be fast‑tracked into a future front line and add creativity between the lines, it is exactly the type of upside swing a new‑look recruitment team might consider.

But with PSG and others also in the frame, this feels like one to watch rather than an imminent announcement. It’s also far from the first time Liverpool have been tipped to do some shopping at Palmeiras, only for nothing to be forthcoming.
