It looks like Liverpool are going to undertake a midfield rebuild over the course of the summer transfer window.

Arne Slot has been reliant on the same cast of characters in his midfield lineup for the last couple of seasons.

But the Premier League title-winning head coach is now getting diminishing returns from some of them including Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch.

Factor in a complicated contract scenario for Curtis Jones – and long-term doubts about Wataru Endo – and you can see why sporting director Richard Hughes is considering new signings.

And right now there is one name that Liverpool cannot afford to miss.

Madrid would sell Camavinga for £43m

Eduardo Camavinga, 23, looks set to be made available by Real Madrid this summer having lost his status as a guaranteed starter at the Bernabeu.

Renowned transfer journalist Matteo Moretto has now spoken out about links between the France international and Premier League clubs.

Incredibly Madrid are willing to let Camavinga go for only €50m (£43m) – a bargain that Richard Hughes needs to exploit.

Given his abilities as a No6, a progressive passer and emergency left-back it’s an opportunity to add three world-class options to the squad for a fraction of Camavinga’s true worth.

“He’s not untouchable; there are already Premier League clubs interested in him. For now, Real Madrid hasn’t set a price, but it’s clear they don’t want to go below 50 million,” Moretto said on
