Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, known as the Duchess and Duke of Sussex, have just returned from a trip to Australia, which some described as “a faux royal tour”
Prince William would scrap Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal titles if he was monarch, it is claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have just completed a tour of Australia, described by some as a “faux royal trip.” They carried out engagements across Melbourne, Canberra, and Sydney, including a visit to a children’s hospital, and Meghan reportedly pocketed £120,000 for a 90-minute meet and greet at a wellness event.
The couple’s trip was met with mixed reaction with some criticising Meghan, 44, for trying to spark “a calculated rebrand” following the end of her and Harry’s Netflix deal. The philanthropic engagements the couple carried out share striking similarities to those on official royal tours, but the late Queen Elizabeth II — who would have turned 100 on Tuesday — told Harry and Meghan they couldn’t be “half-in, half-out” members of the Royal Family when they left the UK for the US in 2020.
Some even believe William would remove the couple’s royal titles; the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, altogether if he was monarch today. He has had a strained relationship with Harry since his brother and Meghan quit The Firm six years ago.

But it seems that King Charles, about to embark on a state visit to the States, is perhaps paralysed by his love and responsibility to his troubled youngest son, and maybe a spot of guilt too.”
The journalist, a regular on Loose Women, suggested Harry, 41, was “all too happy to exploit” his father’s guilt when he gave a talk about mental health in Australia last week. During this address, the Duke of Sussex said he hoped his parenting would be an “upgrade” on his own experience.
But Charles, who scrapped his own brother — Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor — of his royal titles and honours last year, is believed to be more sympathetic towards Harry and Meghan after the collapse of their Netflix arrangement. It is thought Charles may offer an olive branch when Prince Harry visits the UK in the summer for an event marking the one year countdown to the Invictus Games set to take place in Birmingham.
It is said Meghan, meanwhile, remains determined to recover the Netflix collapse. The mum of two has been, according to reports, regularly reaching out to Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos and his spouse Nicole Avant with personal gifts ranging from handwritten letters to flowers, and even jars of her As Ever jam.
