The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has intensified calls for grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, with party leaders urging members in the Ikorodu division to rally support for President Bola Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
Lagos APC Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, and Senator Tokunbo Abiru made the appeal during a stakeholders’ meeting in Ikorodu, where party members also formally endorsed Tinubu for re-election.
Abiru said the gathering was aimed at strengthening unity within the party and consolidating support for the President, describing Ikorodu as a stronghold of progressive politics.
He noted that the ongoing party registration exercise reflected the political strength of the area, adding that Ikorodu had recorded high participation compared to other local government areas in Lagos State.
Lagos APC Chairman Ojelabi said Ikorodu emerged top in the party’s electronic registration exercise, describing it as evidence of strong grassroots organisation and readiness for political mobilisation.
He added that the party was focused on promoting the achievements of the current administration and ensuring unity among members ahead of the elections.
According to him, sustaining internal cohesion and continuous voter engagement will be key to consolidating the APC’s political influence in the state.
