The Federal Road Safety Corps in Kaduna has confirmed that two people died in a road accident along the Kaduna Western Bypass.
Sector Commander Andre Longkam said the crash happened at about 1:45 p.m. on Sunday at the Federal Eye Centre Junction and involved a DAF truck, a Honda vehicle and a motorcycle.
According to preliminary findings, the Honda vehicle collided with the motorcycle, leading to the deaths of the rider and a passenger.
Longkam said two persons were confirmed dead as a result of the incident.
He added that shortly after the crash, some angry youths set the affected vehicles on fire, causing further damage.
The FRSC commander said officers of the corps, working with the Police, responded quickly to the scene to control traffic and restore calm.
He noted that measures were immediately introduced to ensure the free movement of vehicles and to prevent additional incidents in the area.
Longkam also urged motorists to obey traffic rules and avoid actions that could worsen emergency situations.
