Atalanta BC travel to Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena on Wednesday, aiming for a near-impossible Champions League comeback after suffering a crushing 6-1 defeat in the first leg of their last-16 tie.
Bayern, who were always favourites to progress, stunned Atalanta in Bergamo with standout performances from Michael Olise, Nicolas Jackson, and Serge Gnabry. With such a commanding lead, only an unprecedented collapse would prevent Vincent Kompany’s side from reaching the quarter-finals—especially given Bayern’s perfect European record at home this season and their history of progressing from 28 of their last 29 ties after winning the first leg away.
Atalanta, meanwhile, are winless in five matches since their 4-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund and are coming off a 1-1 draw with Inter Milan in Serie A. The Italians face a massive uphill battle, hoping to restore pride and avoid another heavy defeat in Munich.

Bayern Munich face a goalkeeping crisis ahead of Wednesday’s match, with Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich both unavailable and Jonas Urbig doubtful, which could force 16-year-old Leonard Prescott to make his debut.
