Channel 5’s new drama Missed Call follows a mother whose teen daughter vanishes while on a school exchange to the South of France
The real age of the actress who plays Katie in Channel 5‘s Missed Call has been revealed and it’ll no doubt leave fans floored.
The new drama kicked off this week and follows Joanna Scanlan as Sarah Gleason, a mother whose daughter Katie (Emily Coates) embarks on a school exchange to the South of France.
However, after Sarah misses a late-night telephone call from Katie, her concern intensifies when her daughter ceases all communication.
While the school, supervising teacher and host family maintain Katie is socialising with friends, Sarah’s instincts tell her otherwise, prompting her to take action herself and rushes to Saint-Michel seeking answers.
The gripping drama returned to screens on Tuesday (April 14) and the drama continued when Sarah showed the police a WhatsApp message Katie supposedly sent before the message was mysterious deleted.
Sarah then made it her mission to try and find out the truth, even visiting the area where Katie attended a party.
As for Katie actress Emily Coates, she is no stranger to appearing on screens. The star has appeared in the likes of fantasy series Cursed and The Great. Katie also played Rosa in the 2023 live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid.
But it’s Emily’s real age that may shock fans. The talented star is actually 31, despite playing a teenager in Channel 5’s Missed Call.
Met with evasive police and hostility from Katie’s powerful host family, the Morvans, Sarah launches her own investigation alongside local detective Lieutenant Virginie Taylor, exposing buried secrets, abuse, corruption, and trafficking within the tight-knit town.
“As bodies surface and suspicions reach influential figures – including Virginie’s father – alliances fracture. Betrayed and unravelling, Sarah learns that Katie may still be alive. Time is running out for them both and justice.”
