According to football journalist Alan Nixon’s Patreon, the pair feature prominently on the list of players potentially available for sale, which would generate funds for new recruits.
Like the team overall, Mac Allister has been a pale imitation of himself this campaign. With the Reds reportedly pursuing Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, the Argentine could be moved on. An impressive World Cup performance would enhance his market value.

Jones, who unexpectedly started at right-back against Everton with Jeremie Frimpong on the bench, may be seeking a new challenge, with Aston Villa among the clubs thought to be monitoring him.

Klopp’s return stance
Should Slot depart, many Reds supporters will be hoping for an emotional homecoming for Jurgen Klopp.

However, he has dismissed a return to club management, recently dispelling reports linking him with Real Madrid.
According to AS, the only position that would entice him back into the dugout is with Germany.
The Spanish publication reports that managing his country is his long-term ambition.
Whether he gets to realize that ambition in the near future could depend on how Germany performs at the World Cup under Julian Nagelsmann, whose contract runs through after Euro 2028 in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
