Bergerac season 2 returned earlier this month and a slew of new stars have joined the hit detective series

Bergerac‘s series two has a very star-studded cast for its latest season.

Filmed on location in Jersey, the acclaimed programme, which boasts an impressive 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, launched its second series last week (Thursday 16 April).

The programme is a reboot of the iconic Jersey-based crime drama, following troubled detective Jim Bergerac, portrayed by Brassic star Damien Molony.

The original Bergerac television series broadcast during the 1980s, featuring John Nettles as the fictional detective Jim Bergerac. It received a reboot in 2025, with 42-year-old Damien taking on the leading role.

Damien returns in series two as detective Bergerac. Also returning in series two are My Family legend Zoë Wanamaker as Bergerac’s mother-in-law Charlie Hungerford, Robert Gilbert as Barney Crozier and Wild Cherry star Chloé Sweetlove as Kim Bergerac.

However, season two has also welcomed a slew of newcomers with a star-studded cast list. Here we take a look at all the Bergerac season 2 newcomers…

Who is new in Bergerac season 2 cast?

Adrian Edmondson – Nigel

Adrian, 69, is playing Nigel, a charming new presence in Charlie’s life.

The legendary comedy star and actor has appeared in things such as Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Absolutely Fabulous, Holby City, Bancroft, Save Me, EastEnders, Bottom, The Young Ones and Miss Austen Regrets – to name just a few.

Charles Dale – Ian

Charles, 63, has joined the show as DS Ian Monkford.

Charles is best known for playing Big Mac in Casualty from 2007 to 2021, Dennis Stringer in Coronation Street from 2000 to 2002, Gary Alcock in The Lakes, Clive Eustace in The Eustace Bros and more recently Leonard Gibson in Sherwood.

Lesley Sharp – Monica

Lesley, 66, is playing Monica, who is mother to Michael played by Turlough Convery and Nicola played by Camilla Beeput.

Lesley is best known for her role as Detective Constable Janet Scott in the ITV crime series Scott & Bailey. Other roles include Red Eye, Before We Die and The Full Monty – to name a few.

Jonathan Aris – Richard

Jonathan Aris has joined the show as Ch. Supt. Richard Gibbon.

Jonathan, 55, is best known for playing Philip Anderson in Sherlock from 2010 to 2016, Raymond Galt in The Night Manager, Clive in The End of the F***ing World, Commander Roke in His Dark Materials and John Tennant in Red Eye.

Turlough Convery – Michael

Turlough, 35, is playing newcomer Michael.

Turlough has an array of acting credits to his name. Viewers will recognise him from the 2020 series of Killing Eve, where he played Bear for seven episodes.

Other roles include Liam in My Mad Fat Diary from 2014 to 2015, Tom Harry in Poldark from 2016 to 2018, Grantaire in Les Misérables in 2019, Arthur Parker in Sanditon from 2019 to 2023, Lord Mooton in House of the Dragon in 2024 and Dancer Blaine in Slow Horses in 2024.

Camilla Beeput – Nicola

Camilla, 44, is playing newcomer Nicola.

Camilla is best known for Fame Academy, Footballers’ Wives, Peep Show, Birds of a Feather, The Split, Save Me, Sick Note, The Suspect and Dune: Prophecy.

Georgina Rich – Ruth

Georgina, 49, is playing newcomer Ruth.

Georgina is best known for playing Jane Spring in Heartstopper, Wilhelmina Fassbinder in Industry and Rosa Fallows in River – to name just a few.

Bergerac is available to stream for free on U, and via U on Channel 4
