Soldier In Milan, who went off as the favourite, stayed close to the latter for the majority of the race, before sensational breaking away from the others.

Those in attendance at Fairyhouse racecourse cheered home the horses with it coming as a huge win for owner Paul Byrne and trainer Emmet Mullins.

Kiss Will pushed close but fell at the third-last fence with The Jukebox Kid making a number of mistakes before it was pulled up before the conclusion.

The question now for Soldier In Milan is whether or not he can step up to Grade 1 and compete in the Cheltenham Gold Cup. He will almost certainly be heading to Liverpool this time next year.
