A number of stars from the Channel 4 reality series will reunite ahead of the second season’s premiere

Familiar faces from the very first series of Virgin Island are reuniting for a one-off special episode.

The Channel 4 reality show aired its very first season last year, introducing viewers to a pioneering method of therapy that saw 12 virgins get hands-on with their coaches – and each other – as they attempted to build-up their self-confidence.

Out of the 12 contestants featured in the first series, just one went all the way with sex surrogate Kat Slade. The intimate moment was captured on camera, prompting a flurry of shocked reactions from viewers at the time.

“Virgin Island isn’t actually that bad but I still can’t get my head around an actual sex surrogate that then ultimately has sex with the client. It baffles me,” one Channel 4 watcher remarked.

Meanwhile another dubbed it “uncomfortable,” claiming they “only lasted 20 mins and had to turn it off.”

Despite viewers’ shock, the show will return for a second season on April 27, introducing 12 new adults throwing themselves headfirst into the pioneering intimacy retreat.

When does the Virgin Island reunion episode air?

Before the new series kicks off, familiar faces from the first will return for a reunion special episode. It will be available to stream on Channel 4’s catch-up service from Monday, April 20.

Among the returning stars is accountant Dave, the aforementioned star who lost his virginity on the show. He previously revealed the entire cast had to cut contact with the coaches on the show.

“It was explained very clearly to us that you don’t stay in touch after – it’s sort of two weeks, and that’s it and then you move on,” he revealed to the Daily Mail.

He will be joined on the reunion episode by former Season 1 co-stars Taylor and Jason, though the rest of the cast remain absent from the line-up.

Channel 4’s synopsis for the reunion teases: “To coincide with the launch of series 2, Dave, Taylor and Jason make an emotional return to Virgin Island, where they reflect on their journeys so far and the breakthroughs and setbacks they’ve faced.”

Virgin Island: The Reunion is available to stream on Channel 4’s catch-up service from April 20. Meanwhile Season 2 will premiere on the channel at 9pm on April 27.
