Position Description

The role of ATNF Chief Technologist involves reporting directly to the ATNF Program Director. In this capacity, you will be responsible for setting strategic directions for technology development within the facility. Your role will encompass overseeing a range of forward-looking technology projects. Drawing upon your extensive knowledge and expertise in radio astronomy, you will serve as the primary interface with the global astronomy community, guiding the development of future radio astronomy instrumentation.

As a leader, you will be expected to be both collaborative and visionary. Your leadership will involve mentoring and coaching staff, inspiring high performance and setting a bold yet realistic vision for the technology department. Location and Salary

Preferred locations for this role are Sydney (Marsfield) or Perth (Kensington), though candidates in Parkes, Narrabri or Geraldton may also be considered. The position offers an attractive salary package, including a 15.4% superannuation contribution, with negotiable terms for the right candidate. The role is a full-time, specified term appointment of five years, with the potential for an indefinite research position.
