The former World’s Strongest Man is not messing around and is not expected to come in light at all for his controversial boxing clash with Tommy Fury
Eddie Hall expects to come in around 120lb heavier for his monumental showdown with Tommy Fury.
Hall – a former World’s Strongest Man – will take on Fury in a surprising Misfits encounter on June 13 in Manchester. The strongman is best known for his former world record 500kg deadlift, but has recently ventured into the world of combat sports. The 38-year-old took Mariusz Pudzianowski in a KSW contest last year, and would go on to brutally knock his rival out in under 30 seconds on his MMA debut.
He tipped the scales around 335lb for the clash, but is expected to weigh around the same for his upcoming bout with Fury – despite the huge disparity in size. Fury – an undefeated professional boxer – has weighed in as low as 178lb in his professional career, but has gradually gone up in weight.
In his last ring appearance – a decision win over Kenan Hanjalic last May – the 26-year-old entered fight night weighing in at 208lb. During a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, Hall was asked to address his weight ahead of his meeting with Fury.

When asked what the gap in weight would be, Hall replied: “I’m 157kg now, so just under 350lb. If I come in at 335lb that would probably be my lowest, it’ll probably be 340lb… Honestly, if he comes in at 210lb I’d be surprised. I think 205lb to 210lb max.”
The announcement came as a huge shock to many, as the boxing fraternity assumed both Fury and Hall were on relatively good terms, having trained together in the past. However, Hall clarified exactly why the fight was made – stemming from a disagreement he had with the Fury family after calling out Tyson for a fight inside the MMA cage.

“I bumped in John and I had the conversation about fighting Tyson, I saw he was training MMA,” he said on his YouTube channel. “I was trying to instigate the fight but it rubbed him up the wrong way. But things got a little heated.
“Things got a little bit heated. You’re all full of s**t. You’re just all full of f***ing talk. You all walk around like hard men like you’re gonna beat this guy down, beat that guy down, you’ll fight anyone, you’re fighting men. There’s not a lot of action, especially from John.
“I’d like to shut your dad up and put you in your place and then maybe I’ll get the Tyson Fury MMA fight. Sorry it has come to this but sometimes men have to settle their differences. This is not a friendly encounter. I want to go in there and prove a point.”
