It’s time to smell what The Rock has been cooking.
Dwayne Johnson added cologne connoisseur to his resumé this week, dropping a line of Papatui fragrances billed as “luxury without the luxury markup.”
The actor developed his signature scents alongside renowned perfumers Frank Voelkl — the nose behind Le Labo’s iconic Santal 33 — and Jérôme Epinettehe, who’s worked with brands like Byredo and Sol de Janeiro. But in contrast to those higher-priced perfumes, Papatui’s three colognes cost just $40 a bottle.

“I wanted to create something that was high-end and luxury without feeling out of reach,” Johnson said in a press release.
“The right fragrance changes your energy the second you put it on,” he added. “We obsessed over every detail to make sure they smell incredible, last and will become part of how my guys show up every day.”
The result of his two years of development (and more than 170 fragrance prototypes) includes P-01, a leather-like, woodsy blend featuring bergamot, cardamom and crisp apple. The brand describes it as simply “champion confidence, bottled.”

For a sweet and smoky option, there’s P-21, a bourbon-esque scent which includes notes of ripe berry, vanilla absolute and birch.
And the line’s amber scent, P-07, was “built with magnetic energy” — and notes of bergamot, patchouli and vetiver.

“These are layered, transportive, long-lasting scents that feel modern, confident, and elevate the day,” Johnson said of the fragrances.

While marketed to men, all three scents are essentially unisex. And if you can’t decide on just one, the brand’s $19 Eau De Parfum Discovery Kit featuring travel-sized versions of the whole trio.
Since its launch in 2024, Papatui has racked up plenty of fans and become the No. 1 men’s skin care brand sold at Target.
With the new launch coming just in time for Father’s Day gift-giving, we’re smelling more rave reviews on the way.
