Detectives investigating the alleged assault have urged anyone who recognises the man pictured to come forward, as they believe he may have information that could help their investigation
Police have appealed for help identifying the man pictured after a woman was ‘sexually assaulted’ on a packed London Underground Tube cariage.
British transport Police released an image of a man officers want to speak to after the alleged assault on a Northern Line service towards Tufnell Park, North London.
The woman boarded the rush-hour train at about 5.30pm on Thursday 23 April, and stood by the doors. Police said she was then allegedly sexually assaulted before the man got off at Tufnell Park Underground station.
In a statement issued yesterday, a British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Detectives investigating a sexual assault on board a Northern Line Underground train towards Tufnell Park are today releasing this image in connection.
“At around 5.30pm on Thursday 23 April, a woman boarded a Northern Line train and stood by the door. She was then sexually assaulted by a man who got off the train at Tufnell Park Underground station.
“Detectives would like to speak to the man pictured, as they believed he may have information that could help their investigation.”
Anyone who recognises him is urged to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 491 of 23 April.
Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
