Love Island bombshell Gabriel Garland was kicked off the show and his scenes not aired after being linked to a past crime and he has now spoke out about the situation

A Love Island star who barely lasted a day after bosses booted him following alleged past crime links has broken his silence on his swift exit. Gabriel Garland had been part of the Casa Amor lineup that entered the main villa hoping to shake things up.
But his stay was very short-lived after bosses found out he had a link to a stabbing that took place in 2019. His entrance into the villa was aired, but everything that followed was left on the editing table as he was removed fro the show.
At the time, ITV said: “Gabriel has now left the villa and will not be returning.”
Now, Gabriel has spoken out after days of silence. Posting a video on Instagram, the model said: “There was an incident that happened at a party I was at when I was a teenager. This incident is obviously one that should not be taken lightly and was very traumatic for everyone concerned.
“I just wanted to make it clear, the legal judge found no wrongdoing against me and I don’t have a criminal record. This has resulted in me leaving Love Island, which is very disappointing.
“I was also forming a really strong connection in there which you guys didn’t get to see, which is sad. But I wanted to tell you this directly.”
He went on to thank those who had reached out and supported him. And he says he now wants to “move forward in a positive way”.
His exit came after Love Island was hit by more than 180 complaints in a week in June after viewers claimed some of the Islanders were behaving badly. The latest series of the ITV2 show, filmed under the Spanish sun in Majorca is well underway and predictably packed full of drama.
However, some viewers are have been left fuming by the class of 2026. And some have gone as far as calling independent watchdog, Ofcom, to complain.
They claimed some of the boys were being “misogynistic” in “hard-to-watch” scenes. Among the scenes leaving viewers unhappy was Tommy’s interaction with the girls. There were complaints his kiss with Namibia was “forced”. In a busy night for the Newcastle-based builder, Tommy kissed Namibia – and Ellie – and even attempted to kiss Priya.
Viewers had said they felt sorry for Namibia after Tommy pulled her in for a kiss just hours after he’d kissed Ellie. But he kept going and told the boys in the villa he also had his sights set on Priya, and tried to kiss her too.
Simba also felt the brunt of the public’s feelings. They were left unimpressed by him after he was rejected by Mica. He had suggested they go to the Hideaway to spend the night together, but Mica turned down his advances.
It led to Simba fuming: “Now I’m going to look like a f*****g idiot, go talk to Angie and that.”
