Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s kids Zahara and Maddox took out newspaper ads as the next step in officially dropping their father’s last name.
The filing states that her notice ran in the paper on June 16, June 23, June 30 and July 7.
The newspaper ad also calls for anyone opposing the change to submit a written opposition before the final hearing.
Zahara now has a scheduled Sept. 28 court hearing for a judge to rule on the motion. If no one objects, the judge can approve the request.
Publicly publishing a petition in a newspaper is one of California’s required hurdles for a legal name change.
Maddox filed the same request — changing his name from Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt to Maddox
Chivan Jolie — in May, listing the reasons as “personal.”
