Formula One legend Alain Prost was reportedly physically assaulted during an alleged confrontation with armed robbers at his Swiss home and suffered a head injury, according to local media reports.

Formula One legend and four-time world champion Alain Prost has reportedly been left injured following an alleged armed robbery at his Swiss home. The racing icon, who was in the driving seat for Williams, McLaren and Ferrari during his illustrious career, was reportedly physically attacked during the incident and sustained a head injury.
The 71-year-old is an iconic name in the world of racing after starring in the sport for 13 years between 1980 and 1993. The Professor held the records for most podiums (106), most wins (51) and fastest laps (41). Prost was embroiled in a historic rivalry with the late Ferrari great Ayrton Senna during his decade in Formula One.
Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen hold the record alongside Prost as fourth-most Drivers’ Championships with Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher and Juan Manuel Fangio having more. But the French racing icon has hit the headlines for the wrong and worrying reasons.

According to Swiss newspaper Blick, a gang of masked intruders allegedly forced their way into the family home on Tuesday (May 19) at around 8:30am.
The masked men, who were allegedly armed, reportedly threatened Prost’s family and forced one member to open the safe inside the property in Nyon, situated on the shores of Lake Geneva.
Blick reports that one of his sons was forced to open the safe, which was subsequently stripped of its entire contents.

It was added that the family were threatened but what was stolen in the robbery remains unclear, though the report states that Prost maintains close links to luxury watch manufacturers.
While the assailants are on the run, Prost’s family nor the brands involved have commented on the incident. Questions have now been raised about the Lake Geneva area and the safety surrounding the luxury landmark after 18 cases of robbery were reported in 2025 alone.
It has been suggested that authorities believe highly organised cross-border criminal groups have increasingly targeted wealthy residents, particularly owners of luxury watches and other high-value items, making this a growing issue in one of Switzerland’s most exclusive residential areas.
Prost celebrated his 71st birthday in February and despite retiring from the sport over three decades ago, he still remains invested and supporting the next generation of superstars within motor racing.
Red Bull Racing’s Isack Hadjar has been previously described “Petit Prost” by Helmust Marko, Prost said in December: “He has an incredibly strong personality. He doesn’t need to copy anyone.
“It might not please everyone. But it’s fascinating to see how he performs. I won’t tell you how to adjust your car. However, I’d be happy to share my experience with you.”
