A top Hamptons developer — who’s built homes in the enclave’s most exclusive ZIP codes, including Sagaponack, Water Mill and Sag Harbor — is in deep water after crashing his speeding boat into a jetty over July 4 weekend, snapping a pal’s femur and then allegedly fleeing the scene.

According to local reports, cops have charged Peter Mangiameli with two felonies after he allegedly crashed his 35-foot cruiser on Sag Harbor Bay late Sunday night at what they call “unsafe speeds,” leaving at least two of his passengers unconscious.

According to the biography posted on his web site, his clients include “A-list celebrities, socialites, top executives, and financiers from around the world.”

Some of Mangiameli’s builds include a 10-bedroom, 16-bathroom Sagaponack mega-mansion that hit the market for $15.7million, and boasts a tennis court, pool house, gym and sauna.

Another is a $9.1million Sag Harbor estate — complete with an infinity pool, spa, full outdoor kitchen, outdoor shower and a private dock.

His homes go for up to $22.5million.

The Sag Harbor Express reports that Mangiameli, 57, was at the helm just after 10pm, returning from Shelter Island into Sag Harbor Bay with eight friends when his allegedly speeding boat hit the Sag Harbor breakwater jetty, a concrete wall that juts out into the waterway to form a narrow entrance to the bay.

Mangiameli, pictured here on a boat with his daughter, allegedly dropped the passengers off to be treated for their injuries and then sailed off.

The paper quotes police reports saying the passengers were thrown “violently about” leaving one with a compound fracture of the femur that required emergency surgery, another with fractured ribs, and at least two more unconscious.

Sag Harbor Village Justice Court reportedly said the group were in panic and confusion crash, and that many people called cops to report the incident.

The boat, it seems, was able to limp back to dock, and officers were waiting when it finally pulled in.

Police say that Mangiameli appears to have slipped away in the chaos while his friends were being treated.

The Express says he turned himself in Monday morning, and he was arraigned Tuesday on an assault in the second-degree charge for the broken leg, a misdemeanor for the ribs, and a second felony for failing to report the accident.

Mangiameli has retained Edward Burke — the attorney who represented Justin Timberlake after his infamous Sag Harbor DWI arrest.

When Burke described Mangiameli at his arraignment as a “pillar of the community” who owns a home on North Sea Road, the developer couldn’t resist correcting the record: “I own several homes.”

He was reportedly released without bail.

Burke and Mangiameli didn’t immediately respond to our requests for comment.
