Rosa Iberê Tavares Dantas was handed a three-year prison sentence after being found guilty of negligent homicide following the death of personal trainer Talis Roque da Silva in Manaus, Brazil

An influencer is reportedly on the run after she was given a three-year jail term for killing a personal trainer after hitting him with her SUV. Disturbing footage showed Rosa Iberê Tavares Dantas executing a dangerous manoeuvre at a junction before ploughing into Talis Roque da Silva.

Talis, 31, was thrown from his motorbike and slammed into a metal pole before landing on the ground, sustaining multiple fractures. He was taken to hospital where doctors revived him, but he later passed away following cardiac arrest.

Dantas, who was 25 at the time, wrote online: “I provided all necessary assistance at the moment it happened.” However, the footage appeared to contradict this, showing no evidence of her offering any help.

The crash occurred in Manaus, Brazil, on August 31 2023, according to NeedToKnow. Dantas was sentenced last week, on May 4, receiving three years imprisonment after being convicted of negligent homicide.

Judge Áldrin Henrique de Castro Rodrigues of the 10th Criminal Court of Manaus ruled that she must serve her sentence under a semi-open prison regime.

This arrangement allows her to work or study outside during the day but requires her to return to a supervised facility every evening. She was additionally given a fine and banned from driving for one and a half years.

Dantas left Brazil for Madrid, Spain, while the court case was still underway and is now considered a fugitive from justice. Her name has been added to Brazil’s National Register of Arrest Warrants, with authorities also notifying Interpol. Before the crash, Dantas regularly promoted her tobacco shop and swimwear business to her substantial following of more than 50,000 people.

She also frequently shared updates about her fitness routine and healthy eating habits, as well as holidays, fine dining experiences, and nights out with friends.= She kept exotic animals, including three boa constrictors.

She wrote at the time: “What happened today was a great tragedy. Only God and my family know how my heart is.” The ruling can still be appealed.
