The settlement is sealed, but court docs reflect that the settlement was filed May 4.

ā€œJenny Paulson and John Paulson have come to the decision to amicably settle their divorce and trust-related litigations,ā€ said Jenny’s attorney Robert S. Cohen, and John’s attorney Marilyn Chinitz, in a joint statement on Wednesday. ā€œThey consider this settlement a private matter and neither party nor any family nor friends of the parties will have any further comment.ā€

The settlement marks the end of a years-long bitter legal battle between the exes.

Back in July 2022, Jenny accused the billionaire of setting up a ā€œsecretive web of trustsā€ to hide money from her,Ā according to court documents. Paulson’s side denied the accusation, saying in court docs that the trusts were set up together decades ago to protect their kids.

We reported in 2024 that John had offered Jenny hundreds of millions in cashĀ in their divorce after 21 years of marriage — but that Jenny called the offer ā€œhumiliating and demeaning.ā€

ā€œIn my heart and my spirit I feel I deserve a 50/50 splitā€ she wrote in an email, we reported. Or, ā€œ60/40 is OK because there have been other similar divorce arrangements.ā€ She also called her ex’s offers Ā ā€œdisrespectful, shameful and humiliating,ā€ we reported.

His side countered that his offer would make Jenny, ā€œone of the richest women in America,ā€ while keeping major trusts in place for their daughters.

The divorce also sparked a war of words between the exes’ attorneys, with Cohen once quipping of John, ā€œThe man is worth billions of dollars… and Mr.Ā PaulsonĀ offered Mrs. PaulsonĀ only a monthly ā€˜allowance,’ā€ adding at the time, ā€œThat’s called chutzpah — or in English, hypocrisy!ā€ Chinitz of Blank Rome fired back at the time in a comment, ā€œIn what universe is hundreds of millions in upfront cash, plus annual eight-figure distributions for the rest of her life – all tax free – considered an ā€˜allowance?ā€™ā€

But it seems peace has prevailed, and neither side commented on the final settlement besides their joint statement.

A source told us of the settlement, ā€œThe talks began in earnest earlier this year,ā€ adding that a judge in the case encouraged the parties to engage in settlement talks. ā€œIt’s fair to everybody.ā€
