Louis Vuitton is one of the most instantly recognizable names in fashion — and now, it’s coming for our beauty bags.
In 2025, the design house released its first-ever makeup line, La Beauté Louis Vuitton, featuring luxe products designed by celebrity makeup artist Pat McGrath. And this summer, it expanded its offerings even further with a buttery, buildable LV Crayon Lip Pencil.
“Every look I have ever created on the Louis Vuitton runway begins with the lip line — it is where precision becomes art,” McGrath said in a press release, adding that it “deserves to be in the hands of every woman.”
The fresh launch has already landed in the hands of Emma Stone and Hoyeon, who both used it for a blurred lip look at the Louis Vuitton Cruise show this spring.
And while the $58 price tag is steep, the crayon is currently the most affordable item in the LV beauty lineup; other offerings range from a $160 lipstick to a $455 beauty pencil sharpener that doubles as an “object of art,” per the product description.
As longtime fans of McGrath’s work who’ve tested many products from her namesake brand, we were eager to get our hands on her latest innovation. While we tested out two shades — and treated them like gold in crayon form — the pencil comes in 10 colors, ranging from nudes to reds and burgundys.

“I tested the shade Burnt Sienna, a beautiful red-leaning orange that’s very in line with the lip colors I usually gravitate toward. As a longtime fan of Pat McGrath’s products (especially those for lips), I knew to expect serious color payoff and staying power, and I wasn’t disappointed by this launch. Let’s get one thing straight: At $58, this is the most expensive lip liner I’ve ever used. But it’s also the most beautiful, with the pencil itself shaped like Louis Vuitton’s signature monogram flower.
“The product’s texture is a dream; it goes on like butter without any skipping or dragging. And you can use it for either a crisp, bold lip look or something softer and more blurred depending on how you apply it; it’s really easy to blend if you prefer the latter effect. And while you could of course pair it with the lipstick of your choice, it plays very well with a sheer balm as well — just ask makeup artist Nina Park, who used nothing but those two products to create Emma Stone’s and Hoyeon’s lip looks for the Louis Vuitton Cruise show in May.
