“Love Island USA” contestant Mackenzie “Kenzie” Annis didn’t make a euphoric impression on fans during the Season 8 premiere.
Viewers compared Annis to Sydney Sweeney’s “Euphoria” character, Cassie Howard, due to the 24-year-old’s wild behavior in the first episode of the Peacock reality show.
“Kenzie looks like if Cassie from Euphoria went on Love Island!” one fan wrote on X with a meme of Sweeney in the HBO series. “She looks like Sydney Sweeney!”
The same fan predicted Kenzie is “gonna be a hot mess on the show.”
Another viewer tweeted, “kenzie giving s3 cassie realness.”
“cassie howard walked so kenzie could run,” someone else joked.
A different fan tweeted a photo of Kenzie and Cassie and wrote, “Ever since people said Kenzie looks like Cassie I can’t unsee it anymore.”
“These pictures of Kenzie keep showing up on my timeline and I keep thinking they’re stills of Cassie from Euphoria,” read another fan tweet.
Sweeney, 28, played Cassie in all three seasons of “Euphoria.” Season 3 saw the character become an OnlyFans model which involved Sweeney filming many risqué scenes.
Kenzie, a Kennesaw, Georgia native and recent nursing school graduate, was one of 12 contestants introduced during Tuesday’s “Love Island” premiere.
After the cast was announced May 28, fans combed through Kenzie’s social media accounts and found photos of her with friends who were wearing MAGA attire and with a Trump flag in the background, according to TMZ.
But Kenzie’s dad, Tim, told the outlet his daughter is not a Trump supporter.
Her brother, Alden, also spoke out against the political allegations in a TikTok video.
“Me and my family are very against the Trump administration,” he said. “We have never voted for Donald Trump. It’s really just been weighing down on me, the things I have seen people online saying about my sister.”
Alden called Kenzie “an amazing woman” and “huge role model” while noting it’s “really hard to hear these false accusations” about his sister.
In a pre-season interview, Kenzie described what she’s hoping to get out of her “Love Island” experience.
“My parents are still in love, and it’s beautiful how their marriage has grown. It’s been 30 years,” she shared. “I want that kind of love.”
“I was in love once, but I’ve been single now for a year and a half,” Annis continued. “I’m so starving for some boys.”
“Love Island” airs everyday except Wednesdays at 9 pm ET on Peacock.
